AQUAEXCEL2020, a Horizon 2020 research infrastructure project, aims to support the sustainable growth of the aquaculture sector in Europe. AQUAEXCEL2020 comprises a large group of leading European aquaculture research facilities that work towards advanced integration and standardisation of tools for aquaculture research. AQUAEXCEL2020 aims to offer services tailored to the needs of the European aquaculture community and support and conduct world-class aquaculture research.

As part of AQUAEXCEL2020standardised guides and new tools for aquaculture research will be developed including a dedicated e-infrastructure which will support both actual and virtual research experiments.

A virtual laboratory has now been developed where a user can simulate experiments with fish and receive data on expected growth and water quality. In order to improve the experience for the end-user we are asking aquaculture stakeholders to try the virtual laboratory and provide feedback on your experience and possible ways to improve the website.

You can access the virtual laboratory at

You must create a user account and log in. Experiment with the website as much as you want to, for example, you can read more about the different models, try the default experiment or try setting up your own.

After using the website, please fill in the feedback survey here:

Registering for an account at the virtual laboratory, experimenting with it, and filling in the questionnaire should take from 5-15 minutes, depending on how much time you would like to experiment with the webpage.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!
